The Santa Barbara Mission from Mission Ridge
"Tree Mission"
9 x 12 inches
oil on canvas
$350
Here is our lovely Mission done from up above right next to the old aqueduct. Seeing it from here you can imagine it must of looked pretty similer to the Indians and Missionaires. These are olive trees in the foreground, with sycomores on the sides. Further in towards the Mission you have the shorter, darker pepper trees. And of course the palm trees above. I was happy with this piece because all the trees look and feel like that type of tree. Behind the Mission you have the Mesa, and behind that yet, you have the infamous marine layer. I personally love the marine layer... and not only because it keeps it cool in the morning, but it adds a nice bit of cool blue on the horizon complementing the color of the mission bell towers
