The cliffs become very dramatic in this part of town. I had finished doing the dishes at our camp and ran out to a place called Wedding Rock in Patricks Point State Park. The sun was setting and it was windy. I tucked up against the backside of Wedding Rock to get this view.

After painting it from a distance, it was nice to see the Big Lagoon unclose. This is a place where dogs and kids can run wild. Off leash no less!

I love the sunset because of how the light changes constantly, inspiring the imagination. Reminding us just how magical this world actually is.

I am thankful to be able to paint quick enough to capture a portion of that magic.

2 parents, 2 kids and 2 dogs and camping gear packed into the Odyssey. We left SB for the North Coast. Taking the 101, then the 5 all the way to the foothills of Mount Shasta. We took a left and went along the Trinity River towards the Humboldt Coast. After two days of driving we arrived at Patricks Point, State Park. This was the view from the edge of the campground painted the first evening we where there. Oh Joy!
