One of the things I realized about painting in Santa Barbara is that we do not often have clouds. Often times I can't figure out why a certain composition doesn't work for me and then I realize if I had some clouds to work with it would make it much easier. I am now ready to take full liberty and add clouds if I feel the painting needs them, even if they aren't there. Now I just have to learn how to paint them...
