"Bud Lake"
24 x 12 inches
oil on canvas
$850
The high Sierra lakes have always been one of my favorite environments. It is literally God's Garden up there. Everything is beautiful and works together to form a combination of water, rock and vegetation that puts to shame any human garden I have seen. This is my first painting of one of these lakes on the account that its very difficult to hike your gear up there. Not to mention you have to get the wet painting back relativavly unharmed. I am hoping to do a big one of the whole lake from photos and sketches this winter...
I live in Santa Barbara, California and I try to paint everyday. I use painting as a way to express my interest and love for the world. If you are interested in purchasing a piece or getting on my mailing list please email me at chrispotterart@gmail.com.

"Lambert Dome, Yosemite", Tuolumne Meadows, Yosemite National Park
"Lambert Dome, Yosemite"
5 x 7 inches
oil on panel
$120
In these few evenings at Tuolumne Meadow I realized its all about the rocks. I painted this one in the dark with no headlamp. It was fun to see the result the next day in the light. Simple but an accurate impression.

"Dog Lake, Yosemite"
10 x 20 inches

One of my favorite moments is when you come up a trail to a high Sierra lake. The air, the open space to see and the reflections combine to make a dazzling experience. There is an amazing little beach and grassy area that I set up at to get this view. Didn't see any dogs up there though...

"Tuolumne Meadows Morning", Yosemite National Park
"Tuolumne Meadows Morning"
6 x 12 inches
oil on canvas
sold
On this morning I was reminded of how important it is to see things in a different light. A good lesson to learn for all aspects of life. When I am able to step outside myself and see things as they are... I can see there are whole new worlds awaiting discovery. Like Tuolumne Meadows in the morning.

"Dana Fork of the Tuolumne River, Yosemite"
9 x 12 inches
oil on canvas
sold
I spent a week in Yosemite National Park up at Tuolumne Meadows. It probably doesn't need to be said but the place is really amazing. Every direction you walk in there is something amazing to see. Besides painting 11 paintings in 6 days I enjoyed swimming in the rivers and lakes, finding mushrooms with my friend and basking on the warm rocks. Now I understand why Yosemite has such a special place in people hearts. I will paint the next pieces as I clean them from all the trail dust and bugs stuck to them.
