In these few evenings at Tuolumne Meadow I realized its all about the rocks. I painted this one in the dark with no headlamp. It was fun to see the result the next day in the light. Simple but an accurate impression.

moonlight or starlight?
ReplyDeleteI like the floating rocks in the foreground ...
The light of the day and a little starlight. The rocks are erratics left by the glacier that carved out the meadow. They do seem to float in the meadow, in the painting and in the evening.
