"The Granada in the Wind", Santa Barbara

Its rumored that the Potter family was the funding behind the original construction of the Granada. Its a really cool old building that seems like it was picked up from a street in some other city and dropped here. Partly because sometime after they built it they have limited the building hight maximum in SB to about 4 stories. Personally I like the lack of tall buildings here as I can get much better views of the mountains that way. Although I am completely out of sorts when I get into a big city.

  1. Maybe that's why I always feel lost in San Francisco....too many tall buildings, too much traffic, too many people. I'm glad someone imposed a height restriction in SB. It has served the town well.

I always loved the Granada. Sitting in those theater seats staring up at the ceiling waiting for the movie to start...great place.
