I have done many live paintings for weddings and plein air events. Never have I done one purely from memory. When the event started I walked out to the bluffs and did a quick sketch of the sunset. I noted the colors and how pink and warm everything was. I went back to the show and painted what I remembered... and everything I know about the place from 40 years of experience.
