I made this painting in the fall or Spring of 2009 while I was still working full time at the brokerage. I took the day off to be an artist for a day. I was on Ortega Hill painting before the sun rose over Rincon. I ended up finishing this up around 11am and then I went and had lunch on the beach. After that I spent the afternoon at Santa Claus Lane making another piece. It was one of those great days that gave me hope that I would be making art for a living one day.
