When I started this painting it was totally sunny with just a few clouds in the sky. As the weather man predicted a storm system blew in and it was starting to rain as I was finishing up. I don't normally like to chase the changing conditions but in this case I had to change the painting to the cloudy day it was. There is so much happening in the water, with reflections, shadows, ripples and waves it was a challenge to simplify into painting terms. I will be removing the foot print at the bottom of the painting. That happened on the boat ride home while I was hanging on to the railing - not feeling so good.
