"Coal Oil Point Monsoon", Goleta, California

"Coal Oil Point Monsoon"
30 x 48 inches, oil on canvas, $2800

It was really an almost perfect day out at the point but those clouds are the remnants of a monsoon from the south. I hiked out there with my gear loaded up on an old golf push cart. Then I parked myself under a little dwarfed cypress that has a perfect seat cut from a lost limb. I painted for 6 hours straight but I made sure to take a couple breaks and jump in the 70 degree water to reset the clock and keep interested.

  1. The best coals are not the expensive ones. Let us be practical nowadays.
