Ledbetter Beach, Santa Barbara

"Ledbetter Grey"
12 x 12 inches
oil on canvas
sold

Santa Barbara's June gloom is in full effect. I haven't seen the sun in the morning for weeks now. I was down on the beach shortly after sunrise and took my time to paint this one. The surf started to pick up as the tide was coming in. Lance, the guy in the painting, must of had a dozen rides and runs up the beach in the last hour I was making this. You would think that the grey day is absent with color but in reality there are more deep colors then in sunlight.

  1. Chris, I just had to stop in and say I have really enjoyed seeing the progression in your paintings as the year has gone by. Keep up the great work, broski!

  3. Nice. This also looks like the beach at Tulum, Mexico.
